  • Our online system is accessible via this website.  This is open between 7.30am and 9.30am Monday to Friday.  If at all possible, we encourage our patients to access us using this system.  If you or a relative are unable to use the internet, then you can phone our reception desk, where a member of our team will fill out the online form on your behalf.
  • Every single request received each morning is reviewed by the on call GP on the same day.  This GP will then advise our admin team how quickly an appointment should be given.  If you can give us as much information about your problem as possible, it allows us to triage your case appropriately.   If you have multiple problems you wish to discuss, please include these in your request so that extra time can be booked for your appointment if needed.  We are unable to deal with more than one problem during your 10-minute appointment.
  • If you are contacting us about a routine problem, please do not expect an appointment on the same day, as we must prioritise the most urgent cases for same day appointments.
  • Our GP’s will redirect suitable cases to a number of alternative services such as pharmacy, physiotherapy and podiatry.

Non-urgent appointments

We use a system called Patient Triage, which is an easy and fast way to ask for any kind of help from the Practice.

  • The service is available every weekday at 7.30 am and 9.30am.  Please be assured we will respond within 2 working days.
  • You can request a particular doctor (so long as they are working).
  • You will receive a text message that will either invite you to attend a face to face appointment or a remote consultation.  Please check your phone to ensure that you can attend the appointment.

If you do not have access to the internet or smartphone, please contact our call handlers at 8.00 am on 01792 532185.

The service is available to all patients, and you can use it to ask about your children or other people you care for (if registered with us).

When our online services aren’t available, please consider the following

Urgent/Acute presentations

If you have an urgent medical problem that cannot wait, please contact our call handlers, who will take some information to pass onto the doctor.  Your information will be assessed by the doctor, and you will be offered a same day consultation if necessary.  Same day consultations will be offered to children under 16 years of age with urgent acute presentations.

Nurses/HCA Appointments

All Nurse or HCA appointments are available in advance.  Please note, if you have been told to attend the surgery for removal of stitches or wound care, please contact to make an appointment in advance.

Chaperones

If you would like a chaperone present during your consultation, then please advise the receptionist when booking your appointment or when checking in.

Community Wound Clinic

The community wound clinic is also based at the practice.  This service is only accessible via a referral.

Call Boards

The practice uses call boards in the waiting room to let patients know when their clinician is ready to see them.  If you have any difficulty seeing these messages, please advise our receptionists, and we will make a note on your record so that the clinician knows they will need to come to the waiting room to ask you to go through.

Failure to Attend Appointments

It is important that you notify us if you are unable to attend for a routine appointment.  Appointments are very limited, and not informing us of your non-attendance can result in patients having to wait up to 2 weeks for a routine appointment.

Home Visits

If possible, please try to telephone reception before 10:30 if you require a home visit.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it, and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Missing Appointments

It is important that you notify us if you are unable to attend for a routine appointment.  Appointments are very limited, and not informing us of your non-attendance can result in patients having to wait up to 2 weeks for a routine appointment.

If patients persistently abuse the appointments system, the practice may decide after three missed appointments during a year to off list patients from the practice list.

Cancelling Appointments

Patients are asked to cancel appointments they no longer need. Doing this in good time means we can offer the appointment to another patient.

We understand it can be difficult to get through to the surgery to cancel your appointment. It is possible to cancel appointments via:
